I made this one earlier this year for the Year of the Snake, and I wanted the snake to feel like it was actually moving through the necklace rather than simply hanging from it.
So instead of treating it like a regular charm, I worked the snake into the chain itself, wrapping and weaving it across the front so it becomes part of the structure. At the end hangs a dainty silver Gucci eyelet repurposed from a vintage luggage tag, subtle, unexpected, and just enough designer detail without stealing the whole story.
The symbolism was not exactly accidental either. The Year of the Snake is tied to transformation, shedding, and becoming something new. Which is very cute in theory until life actually starts asking you to shed things. 😂 I made this during a year where I was relearning a lot myself... but that is another story.
For this piece, I just loved the idea of taking that symbolism and turning it into something wearable: delicate from afar, intricate when you look closer, and a little mysterious.
