Crossed Lines

$285.00

This is one of those pieces that made me genuinely happy when it finally came together because it feels unmistakably Butones, unexpected, a little rebellious, and designed so the hardware itself becomes part of the art.

I built Mixed Signals around an authentic Louis Vuitton D-ring, then intentionally divided the necklace into two completely different personalities: a substantial rhodium-plated silver chain on one side and polished vermeil links on the other. Instead of trying to make the metals match, I leaned all the way into the contrast. The oversized D-ring becomes the centerpiece that holds everything together, while the extended gold chain can drop vertically to transform the necklace into a lariat.

And this one likes options. Wear it close at 14" as a choker, somewhere in between, opened up to 20", or let the chain fall into a lariat. Same necklace, completely different attitude.

Styling-wise, I would keep everything else simple. A white tank, black dress, oversized button-down, blazer, or even a plain tee. This is one of those pieces where the necklace is the outfit.

  • Necklace Length: Adjustable from approximately 14" to 20"

  • Material: Rhodium-plated sterling silver and vermeil

  • Designer Element: Authentic Louis Vuitton D-ring repurposed into the focal hardware

  • Details: Two-tone mixed chains, oversized hardware, adjustable configuration, convertible lariat styling

  • Style: Contemporary, architectural, bold, versatile, and one of a kind
